In 1931, Shanghai Municipal Council purchase in the Shajing Rd Hongkou, then a modern slaughter house was build in November, 1933. And it was put into use in January 1934.

1933 Old Mullfun was bulid with the contribution of Shanghai Municipal Coucil. It was designed by the British designer and build by the famous building contractor in China at that time. The whole building is the ancient Roman Brazil cassette style. The designers maed the construction process and industrial production technology perfect union, all cement was imported from Britain, strong and clinking. According to the excellent professional level of the construction, the manful architectural entity was build from the design plan. It was the concession official, has the international and domestic background of the three parties, to create the work surprised-the Shanghai municipal slaughter sacrifices to field. Because of it had the background of concession officia, international and domestic, they made a surprised work - Shanghai Municipal Council Slaughter House.

Contractor:Shanghai Yuhong build factory

Yu Jichen, the factory owner of Yu Hongji, was from Yuyao, Zhejiang and was born in 1862.  His ancestors were carpenters. When he was young, he followed his father Hongyuan Yu to Shanghai to learn carpentry skills. They undertook many western building in the early concession of Shanghai, and founded Yuhaoji in 1895.

The builder of Shanghai Municipal Council Slaughter House is Yu Jichen's disciple Sun Deshui. Sun Deshui was from Yuyao, Zhejiang and was born in 1890. He worked in Shanghai Yuhongji in 1907 and workshiped Jichen Yu as the father to learn. He was appreciated by Jichen Yu, so Jichen Yu imparted his homebuilding technology to Sun carefully. In the 1930s,  Sun hae become one of Shanghai beach famous "the two and a half to see the work ".
