Early Completion

Shanghai Municipal Council Slaughter House had become the largest slaughter hous in Yuandong Area by its scale and advanced productive technology. And almost a monopoly of concession and even most of the fresh meat on Shanghai production and supply. And sold along the water ways through Shajing Port, Hongkou Port.

Japanese Puppet Regime Period

In 1937, Japanese imperialism occupation of Shanghai, seizing slaughter house on Shajing Road, then it  became mandatory "official" slaughter house. Most of the meat to the port was producted processing in slaughter house on Shajing Rd, made the business of the private slaughter house light and in trouble.

The Minguo Period

In 1945, until victory, Shanghai National Government Health Bureau took over the slaughter house on Shajing Rd, and became the first slaughter house in Shanghai. Soon it became the largest slaughter house in Yuandong Area and the fresh meat supporting place of 2/3 Shanghai.

Liberation to the transformation of the former

The Chinese people's liberation army Shanghai military control committee let the despatchers into the firast slaughter house on 28th May, 1949. And the finance and economic committee health office let the despatchers undertake the house in 8th June. After that, the house had become the genuine first slaughter house in Shanghai which was service to people.

National Liberation, the house became the main base of meat production and processing and place of the development of advanced production technology. At the same time, it also became the main business of the development of international food processing.

With the China's reform and development and development of economy, The fresh meat production processing in the center of the city  transferred to the suburbs  gradually. Here also gradually faded out from Shanghai food processing industry. The Jiulong Hotel was build in the southern of the slaughter house in 1997. Here completely discontinued in 2002, to the transformation of the former, there had been in a prime condition.

Outgrow

History, makes the building becoming a "diamond" in the dust; History, makes the diamond born again and be fashioned into a piece of exalted jewels.

In 2002 spring, the senior engineer of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences Department, deputy researcher, Shunsheng Xue, seen a dome building and realized that is a special old house. Then through research by many ways and multi-around, the context of the building became clearly. So the first slaughter was appeared again.

In 2004, Zengqiang He, the secretary-general of Shanghai Creative Industry Center and Yu Xia, the deputy district head in Baoshan Area disccoverd there was such a building, so they inspected it. Although it was fragmented, they still be moved by its beauty.

After that, Shanghai Creative Industry Center Inspected it more than once. Then they began to plan how to to conservate and repair and made it be brand new.

On August, 2006, Shanghai Creative Industry Investment Limited Company started the remedial works formally.

Turn into Butterfly

The 1933 Old Millfun from the history, waves sleeves and kickdowns the dust of the years. It is become a place of free writing and free imagination.
