In 1933, Shanghai Industry Bureau Slaughter House was build in the Shajing Road Hongkou District with the Shanghai Municipal Council making contribution and was designed by the famouse British designer. According to Historical Materials, building this Slaughter House has cost more than 3.3 million silver. All of them were imported concrete structure from England. The wall body was about 50 cm thick and between two layers was adopted hollow form. In 30s, the absence of advanced technology period, the designer used physical theory to realize temperature control clearly, then although in the hot summer, the Slaughter House also still keeping low temperature.

Style:the buildings are peculiarly arranged into a square with an inner circle. Four buildings in the four directions constitute the square factory area and are linked to the central 24-side main building through stairways. Buildings at different heights and spiral galleries are designed as complex as a maze but in clearly demarcated orders. The flat slab for the processing workshop was very advanced at that time.

The style of the building is simplicity, generosity and not make public. Only observes carefully, can seems to exercise their inventive mind of elegant adornment detail from the original designers. So smooth production process, the precision of building structure, excellent architectural design are the first time to appear in nearly years ago of Shanghai. Even then, there are only three seats of the slaughter house with this scale. 1933 Old Millfun was the only one  existing building so fa, others had not be found.
