2012 Shanghai Xintiandi New Year Lighting Ceremony

2 Dec. 2011, the 2012 Shanghai Xintiandi and Huaihai Road New Year Lighting Ceremony is held in Xintiandi, which also kicked off a series of celebrating events of Huaihai Road business circle. Being the core fashion landmark of Huaihai Road, this year Xintiandi set up colorful scenes out of "The Nutcracker", a German classical Christmas story. With a ingenious use of environmental elements from its "South Block" and "North Block", Xintiandi has been transformed into a joyful and innocent wonderland.

The highlight of the lighting ceremony this year is known to be a laser show of "The Nutcracker". With the lighting system started, laser beams will "light" the candles on the huge birthday cake. Focused laser beams will form a nutcracker figure in the night sky slowly, which will be marching happily to "blow out" the candles. While splendid lighting makes the whole Xintiandi glitter and glint, Sugar Plum Fairies dance around with the Gingerbread Man's loving accompany, a joyful picture of Christmas season sincerely congratulates the 10th birthday of Xintiandi with best wishes.
