The beauty of Dajin Lake in Taining County of Fujian Province in southeastern China knows no boundaries. Land, water and sky have come in complete harmony to perfect a work of art that spreads out to a vast 461.8 square kilometers by the central part of Wuyi Mountain. 166.9 square kilometers out of this total area is danxia topography, a type of landform resulting from years of water and wind erosion and rock movements that shape a particular area into impressive forms and contours with striking colors.

The Dajin Lake covers an area of 461.8 square kilometers, 166.9 of which are Danxia topography. There are four Danxia scenic spots here. Going from northeast to southwest they are: Shangqing Stream, Jinhu Lake, Dragon King Cave and Eight Immortals Cliff. The Jinhu Lake and Shangqing Stream are China's largest Danxia landforms on water. Characterized deep incised gorges and many incised meanders, the Dajin Lake Danxia area has a wealth of different shapes. Fissured in all directions, the topography of the Dajin Lake has further undergone weathering and erosion by wind and water, giving rise to the red cliffs, square mountains, pointed peaks, stone pillars and walls, incised meanders and gorges that constitute the unique Danxia landscape. Threaded through by the meandering waters of the lake, the place is a rare phenomenon of  ''Danxia on water''.

The Scenic Zone of Ganlu Rock is situated in the northeast of the scenic area of Golden Lake. Here, red cliffs, rock holes and caves develop on a wide range of area, where the Rock Holes & Caves Museum lies. In the caves, there are a number of temples of different styles. Integrating rock holes,caves and temple culture, the scenic zone consists of two scenic spots Tiantai Rock and Ganlu Rock. Uniquely constructed, Ganlu Rock Temple lies in the cave of Ganlu Rock that is narrow inside while wide open outside. The spring water oozing from the rock layers in the temple is clear, sweet and cool like manna, and is called Dragon Spring, hence the name Ganlu (literally manna). Rock Temple was wholly constructed with wood, connected with T-shape, negative tilts without a single iron nail used.
