It is located in the north mountain of Yu Mountain in north suburbs. Its original name was Daci Temple, but it was changed name as Xingfu Temple in 537. In 868, Yizong granted it a tablet called "Po Mountain Xingfu Temple". After Chang Jian, the poet of Tang Dynasty made a poem called "inscribe in the monastery of Poshan Temple", the reputation of the temple was becoming more and more popular.

From 1980 to May, 1982, Cangjing Tower and the hall of avalokitesvara buddhisatva were rebuilt and the hall of Heavenly Kings, meditation room, abstinence hall and the galleries were trimed. From Jun, 1982, the Mahavira Hall, Huayan Building, monks' hall, galleries were repaired. The project was finished on Dec. 1983, then it was listed as the main temple in our country. It became the biggest, the most famous temple and tourist attraction in Changshu.
