Military Academy door

    Written on the door of the gate "Military Academy", is the name of early military, and later with the development of the situation, the Military Academy have been several name, are in fact not really hung over "Whampoa Military Academy" plaque.Because changed its name several times, location does not change, at Whampoa Changzhou Island, people known as the "Whampoa Military Academy".

Why did Sun Yat-sen founded military school? Because of his revolutionary in more than 20 years, is not a loyalty to the Revolutionary Army, revolution having suffered repeated defeats. Especially in 1922, is he regarded as cronies of ChenJiongming mutiny, shelled the Presidential Palace, want him to die, so very sad. From this bitter experience, he began to recognize, revolution to be successful, you must create a revolutionary army, a military school.

    "Military Academy" six black word on the door , the KMT leader TanYan' s own handwriting . TanYan is the imperial examinations in the late Qing dynasty, former editing academy at the end of the Qing dynasty, after the success of the revolution, former Governor of Hunan province, the second Army Commander, acting Chairman of the national Government and other positions. He is capable of the literature and military affairs, and be good at calligraphy, and YuYouren, ZhangJingjiang being hailed as the KMT "three great calligraphers". In 1923,  Mao Zedong personally visited him in Guangzhou, hopes he can help the Military Academy established by Sun Yat-Sen, the first cooperation between KMT and CPC.

    There are two sentry posts in front, behind the two houses is a guard room, stand Sentinel guards take turns each day here, perform surveillance tasks.

    Military is full of intense revolutionary atmosphere, both inside and outside the school gate to post a variety of slogans and couplets. A couplet is the first pair part of "win promotion and get rich, please go away", the second line of a couplet is "be mortally afraid of death, not into the door", a horizontal scroll bearing an inscription is "revolutionary". It truly expresses military join the army serving the wishes .  "Revolution has not been successful and comrades still have to work hard " this couplet is the teachings of Dr Sun Yat-Sen, was written after his death. After a few decades, alumni to return to his Alma Mater, the scene brings back memories, and in accordance with this spirit, sincere authentic out of their common aspirations: "the motherland has not reunification , students still have to work hard", encouraging everyone to the great cause of the motherland's reunification and work for the great goal of achieving the great unity of the Chinese nation.

    The building after the door , was the headquarters . It was originally in Guangdong in the late Qing army primary school Hall, by the Governor ZhangZhidong of Guangdong and Guangxi founded , have been attending this YeTing and Deng yanda. After the Whampoa Military Academy was founded, Prime Ministers, Presidents and departments/offices, student classrooms, dormitories, dining hall is located here. Unfortunately, the building in 1938 was bombed . In early May 1996, this part of Guangzhou Municipal Government decided to rebuild the school. Strong support in all aspects, fight 98 days ,  a cost of more than 20 million RMB, completed November 12 , in the 130 anniversary of Sun Yat-Sen's birthday, reproduce the old style.
