Qu Shisi, Changshu, Jiangsu people, Ming dynasty (1368-1644) poet, national heroe, at age of 27, got Jinshi . be appointed head of  Yongfeng courty next year,.

Qu Shisi live in a period, when the transition from the Ming dynasty to the Qing dynasty (1644-1911). Qing army went into Shanhaiguan pass to battle with Li Zicheng forces which had been occupied Beijing in 1644, Ming dynasty is dead in that time. Qing dynasty army occupied Beijing next year. Fulin change the name of country to Shunzhi, Li Zicheng  and zhang xianzhong set up their own government, Fu king established Southern Ming Hong Guang government. Qu Shisi supported Hong Guang government, be appointed governor of Guangxi. After Fu king  died , Qu Shisi supported Gui king Zhu Youlang , be appointed Bingbushangshu (Minister of Defence) in 1646, defensived Guilin city.

In 1948, Kong Youde led troops expedition of Guangxi, Qing dynasty Shunzhi seven years (1650), Kong Youde occupied Yanguan pass Guilin, generals, who defensive Guilin city, escaped without a fight, Qu Shisi and Zhang tongchang were Captured by Kong Youde,  Kong Youde advised Qu to surrender, but be refused, them took Qu and Zhang to temporary prison in the wind cave, Folded Brocade Hill. Kong Youde sent person to advice many time, but still be refused, In the morning of November 17, Kong Youde send people killed Qu and Zhang in the crane cave , south of Folded Brocade Hill.
