Suoxi valley nature reserve is situated in the center of Wulingyuan scenic zone. It occupies a total area of more than 1,800,000 square kilometers. It is the largest valley among the three big scenic zones. Most of the geomorphic of Suoxi valley is the same as that of Zhangjiajie and Tianzi Mountain. They are mostly made up of quartzite and belonged to the sandstone hoodoos geomorphic.

     To its east is a large area of water-erode cave groups, such as Huanglong Cave and Kwan-Yin cave, etc. These cave groups are made of limestone. When it comes to inhibition animals of rare and valuable species, there are more than 20 types found in Suoxi valley such as leopard, pangolin and giant salamander etc. There are more than 20 groups of macaque here amounting to 1,000 macaques.
