Mulan Mountain is located 58km northeast of Wuhan, Hubei Province. It is a resort of Buddhism and Taoism religion. The temples were originally built in the Sui Dynasty. There used to be seven palaces, eight Taoist temples, thirty-six halls and thousands of Buddha Statues. The architectures here feature the connection between the Buddhism and Taoism.


The whole Mulan Mountain Scenic Area is composed of four areas, which are ancient village area, stones area, gardens area and villas area.


Ancient village area is at the Qisi Peak, which are 582 above the water level. This ancient village was first built in 1259 and used for ministry defense. Beacon towers and block houses were erected in the ancient village. The scenic spots in this area include Yitian Gate, Nantian Gate, Mulan Gateway, Yufang Cave, Lingxiao Street, and so on.


Stones area is rich with odd stones of different shapes. These stones are mysterious with many associated legends. You can view the scenic spots such as Phoenix's Crown Stone, Golden Toad Stone, Chessboard Stone, Great Buddha Stone, White Cloud Cave, Price Cave, and so on by climbing up along the 1,090 steps.


The scenic spots of the gardens area include Crystal Palace, Three Eyes Well, True Man Slope and Nine Tablets Stone, while the villas area includes nearly 20 summer villas.
