Fa Hua Pagoda was called Jin Sha Pagoda when it was built in 1205~1207. In its long history, it was damaged and rebuilt quite a few times. During one of its reconstructions in 1608, the local officials funded a lot and the pagoda became a lot more beautiful. "Jin Sha Under Sunset" had been a famous attraction of Jia Ding Town for a long long time. It was renamed to Fa Hua Pagoda in Ming Dynasty by a famous Calligrapher.

In 1996, it was reconstructed again and lots of efforts were put into restoring the buildings around it to what they looked hundreds of years ago. It has now become a famous attraction not only of Jia Ding but also of Shanghai.

It is quite close to F1 Shanghai Circuit. If you are going to watch an F1 game, it is quite convenient to drop by and enjoy the view that was already famous hundreds years ago.
