Hulongtan Park lies at Tacheng Road, Jiading town; it is next to Confucian Temple. The name of Huilongtan was derived from Huilongtan pond (pond of convergent dragons) in front of the park. The pond was dug in the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty (1588) that was 400 years ago. Rumor had it that five streams converged in this place, and the situation just like five dragons stretching with winding sharp; and there is an island called Yingkui Hill in the center of the pond, green water surrounds the island like the dragons revolving round a bright pearl. Overlook the pond, the whole sight very much like five dragons are contesting with each other for the pearl, which forms impressive natural scenery.

The original name of the park was "Kuishan Hill Park" when it was established in 1928. A pavilion with double overhanging eaves named Kuixing Pavilion stands by the side of the pond. Hiding among the luxuriant green trees, Siyi Pavilion faces the plate of Confucian Temple in the distance. The beautiful scenery of the hill was reflected on the water, which makes the park more charming.

The park is famous for the attractive natural scenery but also for the cultural and historic relics there. Except for two monuments of Hou Tongceng and Huang Chunyao (two loyalty ministers in Ming Dynasty), there is a vestige of thousands of Small Knife Association insurrectionists who were slaughtered brutally. In this park human landscape blends into the natural scenery naturally. Moreover, Huilongtan Park still maintains many pretty scenes formed in past dynasties and stone pavilions, stone pagodas, stone hills of different dynasties such as Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing are preserved well.
