Also named Shuikou Pagoda, Wenfeng Pagoda was built o­n Jiajing 23 years in Ming Dynasty (1544). The Jinshi (former third degree candidate in the national civil service examination) of Ming Dynasty, Zhengzuo spent 15 years and more than 40 thousand taels of sliver in building it. The inscription o­n the stele records the names who donated to build this pagoda. The ground-wood core of the pagoda cost him 3 year from cutting down it to transport here. And the bottle gourd shaped top is at last finished by referring to the Bao'en Pagoda of Nanjing, Chanshi Pagoda of Shaoxing and so o­n.
