Luoxing Tower stands tall and upright o-n the top of the luoxing mountain which is 21 km away from fuzhou urban.In 1985, it was listed as the provincial level cultural relic preservation organ. Luoxing mountain is originally an island in the middle of the river, it is also called Moxin island.

The seven-layer tower is octagonal and made of stone. It stands 31.5 m high at the Majiang River port. It has a legend that it is built by Liuqiliang who comes from Guangdong and beautiful. In order to seize her, The native laird bring a false chargh against her husband to sent him to southern Fujian, at last , her husband died. Liuqiliang was very angry and helpless, therefor she sold of all her property , built the luoxing tower with the money to stand for her miss feeling.

It was built in the Song Dynasty, damaged during the period of Emperor Wan Li of the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt during the period of Emperor Tian Qi of the Ming Dynasty (1621-1627). o-n the second layer, there is a tower inscription which tells us the geogrophy situation and the function of Luoxing tower. The naval battle in 1884 between China and French was carried o-n Ma river under the Luoxing tower. Luoxing Tower has been regarded as the famous mark of the port in the world navigation chart, called "China Tower".

In 1963, Luoxing tower carried o-n another restoration. The mound under the tower also was warded off for the Luoxing park. And the Luoxing zero point is the elevation datum of the entire Fujian province. When the see wind blows gently, standing o-n the tower , you can see many small islands in the sea and many aquatic bird fling along the shore. What a marvelous sight!
