Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall, located in Qianmen Dongdajie, Chongwen District (East of the old Qianmen Railway Station), has been renovated on the basis of the existing building. The rebuilt exhibition hall has 4 floors in total and provides various ways to learn a lot about Beijing in a short time, featuring exhibition boards, light boxes, models, photographs, sculptures and 3D movies, all of which are designed to introduce Beijing's long history and display great achievements in urban planning and construction.
The 200-seat 3D multimedia auditorium in the 4th floor of Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall covers an area of 400 square meters, able to satisfy various demands like showing 3D movies, holding conference and working as TV studio. The 3D auditorium employs 5.1 channel sound system and BARCO analog simulation system with 120°arc screen. The 5.8 m high screen with 20 m arc length considered as the largest screen in the current world, combined three BARCO Galaxy projectors makes the auditorium available for showing city simulation movies and wide screen movies by means of virtual reality technology. Since established in 2007, the 3D multimedia auditorium has kept showing 3D movies or holding important conferences everyday, and all the AV systems has always been in a working status.
