Capital Gymnasium
This is the biggest indoor stadium in China. It was built in 1968, with a seating capacity of 18, 000. Table tennis, basketball and volleyball tournaments and gymnastic contests are held here, and even ice hockey and figure skating performances can be organized all the year round.

Rock Climbing

The indoor rock-climbing centre of the Capital Gymnasium opened on June 8, 2000 to rock climbing enthusiasts in Beijing. Jointly designed and constructed by the Chinese National Mountaineering Team and the gymnasium, the centre features a 10-metre-high and 14-metre-wide artificial wall. With six routes of different levels of difficulty, the wall is good for both advanced climbers and beginners. The centre, open year-round, will hold a series of training courses to promote rock climbing in the city.

Big Sports Complex

The new building located on the east of the Capital Gymnasium is a multi-purpose sports training centre. It was completed in 1985 to host the Fifth World Cup Acrobatic Gymnastic Tournament that year and the World Cup Gymnastic Tournament in 1986. It has two floors, the upper floor is used for gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, badminton, rhythmic gymnastics and fencing training. The lower floor is used for international standard ice hockey rink and also for training purpose in other sports.
