Lingfeng Peak is the east gate of Mt. Yandang. If Mt. Yandang is a piece of music, Lingfeng Peak is absolutely one of the most magnificent movements of the whole. Climbing up along Mingyuxi (Mingyu Stream), the picture which Xu Xiake described comes into your sight. "There are steep cliffs with irregular and perilous appearances alongside the precipitous peaks as if they were caved into shapes. Some are erect as bamboo, forceful as glossy ganoderma, straight as writing brushes, slantwise as headdress. At the mouth of the cave, the waterfall looks like a trip of curtain; in the pond, the water is as pure as indigo-blue. Some are like double-phoenix or five immortals." The sight during the day is tasteful and that of the night is even more attractive. Every time night falls, the peaks silhouetted against a moon-lit sky, work out a group of images, such as the "Eagle Retracting its Wings", "Husband-and-Wife Peak", "Watching Moon Rhinoceros", "Love-sick Maiden" etc, which are all vivid and amusing.

Tourists from east could see the huge rock called Greeting Monk on the west of Puxi River. Greeting Monk is the most vivid and symbolic site in Mt. Yandang and it leads us into a Buddhism atmosphere which reaches a peak in Kwan-yin Cave. In fact, Lingfeng Peak is a fairyland rather than a Buddhism place. It's not because there is a Dipper Cave of Taoism close to Kwan-yin Cave but there are green peaks and cliffs rounding Lingfeng Peak to make a fairyland. The peaks and cliffs of Lingfeng Peak form many different views called "different positions, different sceneries" and especially in night with moon, it brings many fantastic thoughts to people. For that the famous Night View of Lingfeng Peak enters the nonreplicable site list of guide and since that, this Buddhism place and fairyland become closer to the human world.
