Zhongshan Park, the oldest park in Xiamen, located in the old city area of Xiamen, was built in 1927 in memory of Sun Yat-sen, the great patriot, national hero and the great pioneer of the Chinese democratic revolution.

As you enter the front gate (south gate) of the park, you can see a magnificent sculpture, the landmark of the park, a stone lion standing on a big stone ball. The stone ball is 8.3 metres in height and 5.1 metres in diameter. The whole statue is 8 tons.

There are stone bridges and pavilions connecting each scenic spot of the park. Walking on the path, you can have a sense of relaxing and leisure. On the weekend, you can also find families boating on the lake in the park.

There are plenty of trees such as willows, palm trees and banyans, most of which are tall, dense and with a long history.
