Chinese say the 92.7m high Sunlight Rock, known as Dragon Head Hill by Chinese and Camel Rock  by foreigners, faces Tiger Head Hill across the bay on Xiamen Island, and that the dragon and tiger team up to guard Xiamen Harbor's entrance.

Also known as Huang Rock, Sunlight Rock is the most famous scenic spot in Xiamen. Sunlight Rock consists of two hugh rocks, one horizontal and the other vertical. The two rocks leaning on with each other, with an elevation of 92.68 meters, form the highest spot of Gulangyu Island. The lofty and rugged rocks in the mountains form many caverns and gullies, while pavilions, kiosks and terraces are tucked away in the lushly growing woods. When Zheng Chenggong, China's national hero, recovered Taiwan, his troops were stationed here, leaving behind a lot of stories.

Sunlight Rock Scenic Area includes Sunlight Rock and Piano Garden. Sunlight Rock, also known as Dragon Head Hill, is the highest point of Gulangyu Islet. Perched atop Sunlight Rock is a gigantic stone with a diameter of over 40 meters. A towering creation of nature and the symbol of Xiamen, it commands a panoramic view of the narrow channel between Xiamen Island and Gulangyu Islet, and was where Zheng Chenggong(often known abroad as Koxinga) stationed his troops before he recovered Taiwan from Dutch occuption. Ruins of Zheng Chenggong's marine Command Platform and Ancient Fort Gate are still visible today.

Travel Tips
Climate: There is a cave in Sunlight Rock scenic area. It is an ideal site to get rid of the heat summer. So summers are the best season to travel to Sunlight Rock scenic area.

Traffic
Ferry boat ferry terminal in Xiamen, one-way free of charge. Xiamen station';s first flights to 05:45, 05:30,06:00 Gulangyu station';s first flights. 07:00 --- 19: 00, every ten minutes. 21:00-00:20, about 20 minutes. After landing, you can reach more than 10 minutes walk from Sunlight Rock.

Tickets
Tickets are 60 yuan, of which 30 per after 17:00 (ticket office at the main entrance of the Sunlight Rock fare card will be linked to this, depending on the day the case may be). With Shu Zhuang Garden, Haoyue Park, Organ Museum of Art Museum and international lettering ticket is RMB 100.
