The seawall has 2,212m of overall length, and is connected Gaoqi and Jimei, so called Gaoji Seawall. In 1953 starte building and on October 1955 was finished building, only took two years.  And building the seawall view pavillion in one side of Gaoqi. The pavillion with four words "remove mountains and fill seas" by Zhude. There are planting eucalyptus, albizzia julibrissin, acacia confusa all round, with the wind fluttering the branches an leaves, is making the people feel great kindness.

On Oct., 1995, Xiamen people starte building Jimei again - Jimei-Xinglin Sea Walls, was 2,820m long and an area of 5.2 square kilometers of Xinglin Bay was changed into a artificial lake.

These two seawalls has a total length of 5,032m, is called by a joint name "Xiamen Seawall" and the elegant name "Miles of Long Beach".
