The Former Residence of Chen Yun and Qingpu Revolutionary History Memorial Hall is a biographical exhibition hall which displays the whole life of Chen Yun and the glorious history of socialist revolution and construction of the Qingpu people.

Chen Yun was a great politician, proletarian revolutionary and eminent Marxist. Being the inaugurator and the founder of Chinese economic construction, he won great respect and love from the Chinese people due to his marvelous contributions to China. The hall is located in the birthplace of Chen Yun: Liantang Town, in the Qingpu District of Shanghai. It is simple but solemn, in the style of a Jiangnan (the south bank of Yangtze River) folk house. The main body of the building measures 46 feet high with three floors. The underground floor introduces the revolutionary history of the Qingpu people under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party. The four exhibition halls occupying the first and second floors display in chronological order the documents, pictures and historical objects reflecting the life of this great man. These precious historical materials bring us back to the age when Chen Yun lived and worked and allow us to experience his wide and deep thought and immortal manners. Chen Yun's former residence lies to the north of the main hall. It is a typical Jiangnan-style house constructed of timber and has been kept in its original appearance.

In 2001, the Former Residence of Chen Yun and Qingpu Revolutionary History Memorial Hall became part of the national patriotism education base. After paying a visit, you will know more about Chen Yun's great deeds and the Qingpu people's glorious revolutionary history.
