Introduction to Sanya Dongtian Park Tourist Attraction

      Sanya Dongtian Park lies 40 kilometers west of downtown Sanya. It was first exploited in the Southern Song Dynasty (AD 1187), which makes it the most ancient tourist attraction in Hainan Province and the holy land of Taoist cultural tourism in the southernmost of China. It is accredited now as one of the first National 5A-Class Tourist Attractions. Blessed with a wonderful view of the sea, mountain, stone and grottoes, it has the reputation of being "Qiongya's unparalleled scenic spot for 800 years". At present, Dongtian Park receives more than a million tourists every year.       The exploitation of Sanya Dongtian Park was started in the Southern Song Dynasty which was eight hundred years from now. It is the first scenic spot opened up in the history of Hainan Province. The graceful view formed by the combination of the mountain, sea, stone and woods in Dongtian Park has continuously attracted the attention of countless refined scholars and celebrities from all walks of life, resulting in a large amount of cultural relics and historical sites. The "Stone Boat", "the Minor Grotto Heaven", "Wonderful View of the Mountain and the Sea" "Longevity Tablet" and other attractions had been recorded and recited by ancient writers and they are now key protected cultural relics in Sanya.       Dongtian Park lies at the foot of Nanshan Mountain where about 30,000 "Nanshan Evergreen Pines" are widely distributed. This kind of giant tree has the appearance of pine but it is not real pine. Its scientific name is dracaena, known as the "living fossil" in vegetation and is listed by the State as second-grade protected rare tree species. According to textual research, dracaena is a rare species of tree that has extraordinary long life. It can live as long as ten thousand years. It came into being in the time of dinosaurs and now dinosaurs had extinct but it still lives.

In this area, there are tens of thousands of evergreen pines growing here. Their roots intertwine with each other, resembling many elder longevity gods sitting there with their legs crossed (the oldest pines are five or six thousand years old). The pines and this treasure land filled with bliss and longevity together convey the eternal aspiration of "live as long as the Nanshan evergreen pine", and they have created a unique natural and cultural wonder in China.

      Situated in Dongtian Park, Sanya Natural History Museum is the only Natural History Museum in the southernmost of China. Predominated by dinosaur fossils, the museum reproduces a vivid living world of 140 millions ago. There is a specimen collection of more than 2,000 articles out of which 800 are state-level treasures and specimens and they are unique at home and abroad. West of Liaoning's Jehol ancient biota fossils in the museum are referred to as "the Most Striking Discovery in the Twentieth Century" by the former U.S. President - Bill Clinton.

      Moon Bay & Resort Sanya is located in southeastern Sanya's Dongtian Park tourist attraction, which is one of the first batch of National 5A-class Tourist Attractions and the southernmost aboriginal coastal resort in China. Moon Bay nestles at the foot of Aoshan Mountain and faces the South China Sea, extending along the coast like a crescent. The natural vegetation here is well preserved and the Moon Bay is a natural oxygen bar with more than 8,000-10,000 negative ions per cubic centimeter. Beach bars, wooden villas and tent camps are put up here with mountains and the sea around to undertake some activities, such as vacation accommodation, anniversary celebration, honeymoon, wedding photo shooting and camping trainings, etc.
