Mao Zedong's former residence is also called Red Army Building, and divided into Mao Zedong';s former residence and Jianning Revolution Exihibition Hall. The hall is a German building opened in 1969.

The former residence is divided into upfloor, downfloor and a meeting room. The first room on the right side downstair is commander reception office; the second room is commander adjutant room. The first room on the left side is commander war room; the second room is Zhu De's house.

The first room on the right side on the second floor is commander staff room, and it is Mao Zedong's bedroom opposite the staff room. The first room on the left side is the house of mailitary polices and it is army secretary room opposite the house. The general headquarters meeting room was a church with an area of about 240 suqare meters originally.
