Gongchuan town, "the hometown of Chinese Gong chicken", is situated in the joint of Yong'an and Sanming, Fujian province. As the national highway 205 and Yingxia railway run through the Gongchuan town, the town enjoys convenient transportation, abundant water and electricity resources and an advantageous construction condition. Gongchuan town is an important production base of edible chickens in Fujian province. It now has 10 henneries with 205 thousand cocks used for reproduction and an annual output of 30 million chicklings. At present, there are nearly 4000 families raising edible chickens in the city with an output of 10.4 million chickens, among which Gong chickens are 5 million. The chickens are sold to more than 10 provinces (cities and districts) in China and enjoy high popularity there.
