Dicaoyuan Revetment is built in Qing Dynasty, and has near 200 years history. Its site selection and modelling has its unique feature. The revetment is built in gentle slope district. Because there are residents living in the revetment, the buildings of the revetment are still kept its original appearance. There are five wing-rooms and more than 50 all sizes of houses. The houses are raising according to terrain and showing oval. The houses are built with cobblestones and loess, and there are bamboo boxes, observation desks, observation windows are others in the wall. It is a building that can be accommodated 300 people to live and against enemies.

The beauty of Dicaoyuan Revetment is its wall that is full of characteristic. The back of the revetment is almost roundness and the front is oval. The gate is built on the left side of the front and it is for two fingers wide. In the gate, there are stone benches on the both side for people to have a rest. The outline of the whole wall is bright that it looks like a peacock from a distance.
