K'ung Hsiang-hsi (September 11, 1881 - August 16, 1967), often known as Dr. H. H. Kung, was a wealthy Chinese banker and politician in the early 20th century. He was highly influential in determining the economic policies of the KMT government in the 1930s and 1940s. He was known as the richest man in China at that time.

The Kong Residence was built in 1939. The Kong Residence is the official residence for Minister of Finance Department of the former KMT government ,Kong Xiangxi. It is a building union of Chinese and weatern style with pavilion, terraces and open halls, a total of 22 rooms. On the right side there is a air-raid shelter of 150m long. In the shelter, there are six rooms and three eixts. It is built for avoiding the bombing from Japan.
