Dongxi Town is formerly known as Wanshouchang and renamed by an emperor of the Tang Dynasty with the history of over 1300 years.

The ancient town has a long history and unique landscape. Old road made of blue broad stones in Ming Dynasty crosses the whole town. About 3000 Ficus virens Ait.Var.sublanceolata and the Diaojiaolou built in Ming and Qing Dynasty form the scenery of delicate bridges, flowing waters and unique residents. Two monuments, three palaces, three waterfalls, four bridges...which make people linger on with no thought of leaving.

Best tourism time: Spring and winter. It is too hot in summer and rainy in autumn.

Traffic Guide

Dongxi Town is 35 kilometers from Qijiang County, 90 kilometers from Chongqing City.
You can take the bus from Chongqing to Dongxi (27 CNY) which goes every half hour at Nanping bus station. Please get off in the high way and walk to the Dongxi Entrance. It will take 20 minutes by foot for you to get to the Dongxi Town or you can take a tricycle to get there (3 CNY)
