The kiln ruins covers an area of about 300,000 square meters. It is a tourist area boasting landscape, local folkways, and human and cultural places of interest. The Xiangjing River runs to the west of the kiln, which is amidst the hills, therefore having a good environment. The place is rich in pottery clay and is full of local rustic flavor and style. Its landscape looks like those of the southern land of water. During the period from Tang to the Five Dynasties, it was a kiln operated by the local people, the birthplace of under glazing techniques in the world, a landmark in the history of the production of pottery ware. It has produced an important influence on the cultural exchange between China and other countries.
