Panshan Mountain is a very famous attraction in Tianjin. It is blessed with strange rock formations, verdant trees, clear streams lakes and mighty peaks. Panshan Mountain is made up of Shang Pan which is famous for vigorous pine trees, Zhong Pan which is well-known for unique rocks and Xia Pan that is renowned for crystal clear stream water.


Located in the Northwest of Jixian County in Tianjin and about 75 kilometers east of Beijing, Mount Panshan may well be the best-known scenic spot in Tianjin. Mount Panshan is o­n the edge of the North China Plain. Less than a thousand meters above sea level, the granite peaks rise abruptly, featured by the many sheer precipices and grotesquely shaped rocks and boulders. The Panshan Mountain possesses delicate pagodas, graceful temples, beautiful tress, unique stones and clear water.


It is famous for jade pine trees, strange and astonishing peaks, clear waters, grotesquely shaped rocks and clusters of ancient temples. On the mountaintop, numerous pines hide the sky from view and block out the sunshine. Rugged rocks in a variety of shapes, some of which resemble a toad, a general or a boa, will greet you in the middle of the mountain. At its foot, clear water splashes on the rocks. The mountain consists of five peaks, with the main one, Guayue (Moon Hanging) Peak. Although Guayue Peak is only 857 meters (2811.7 feet) above sea level, to the north it is possible to see a section of the Great Wall while to the west Mt Taihang can be seen.
