Huaminglou is in a beautiful small town of South Changjiang. It is located o­n the bank of Jinjiang River, northeast border of Wangcheng County, in the southeast of Ningxiang County boundary, Hunan Province. Its neighboring is Xiangtan and Xiangxiang city in southwest and is 30 kilometers east from provincial capital Changsha. The distance from Mao Zedong's hometown, Shaoshan, is 37 kilometers o­n the south and is 30 kilometers west from the county. Liushaoqi memorial hall covers an area of 47,000 square meters with a construction area of 20,000 square meters, including Liushaoqi's former residence, memorial hall, relic hall, etc. On 24 November 1898, Liu Shaoqi was born in o­ne of the families in Huaming Tower. That was a typical peasant family. Liu Shaoqi's former residence is a wooden structure central courtyard house.

Liushaoqi memorial hall exhibit more than 800 remnants of Liushaoqi including living goods, office supplies, photos, farm tools, etc. o­n 24 November 1898, Liu Shaoqi was born in o­ne of the families in Huaming Tower. That was a typical peasant family. Liu Shaoqi's former residence is a wooden structure central courtyard house. There is a pond in front of the house with the wood surrounding the house. There are more than 30 grass tile-roofed houses in the courtyard. Other than the bedroom, there are many farming tool rooms, pig fence room and barbeque room in addition of rooms specifically for children to study. It showed that the Liu family placed much importance o­n children's education.

These years, Liushaoqi memorial hall has won many prizes, such as ' The best tourist spot in Hunan','Educational base of patriotism in national system of relics', 'National AAAA-level tourist spot', and gotten ISO9001 certification of product quality and ISO14001 certification of environmental management.

Traffic: There are coaches from Changsha to Ningxiang, and there are buses to huaminglou from Changsha, Ningxiang, Shaoshan. You can go there by bus.
