Liuxihe National Forest Park, well-known as 'pearl in Northern Tropic', with a total area of 8813 hectares, is one of 16 national forest parks under construction in first batch. It is located in the northeast of Conghua City, 93 km far from Guangzhou. Liuxihe National Forest Park is a surprising land of scenic wonders associated with fantastic physiognomy. The park features the most colorful concentrations of trees, waterfalls and flowers in the seasons.

    Liuxihe National Forest Park is located in semi-tropics with mild climate and bountiful rainfall, rich in resources and species. The average temperature here is 20.3degree annually, the highest temperature is 31.9 degree averagely, the lowest temperature is 11.8 degree averagely. The average rainfall of a year is 2000 mm. The great density of plants and height of peaks, the multi-hued lakes and mountains display the unique natural surroundings of the forest park. The animal and plant species here is an encyclopedic reservoir: you can track serow, sambar, hill ox, civet, masked civet, rhizomy, pangolin, silver pheasant, pheasant, aigret, mandarin duck and thrush, you can also find bamboo, cypress, camphor, fragrant nanmu, cuckoo along your ways. In recent years over 100 endangered species have been introduced here.

    In the park center, Liuxi Lake is encircled by hopping mountains. The lake is over 20,000 mus and features 22 islands in different shapes. Liuxi Lake is 15 square kilometers in area and over 100 meters at its deepest spot. The jade-like islands, surrounded by hopping maintains, are penetrating the water surface, which gives the water reservoir amazing charms. In the southeast of the park, 6 peaks over 1000m high, such as Wuzhi Mountain, Niujiao Mountain and Jichen Mountain (1146.7m, the highest peak in the park), etc, are standing like the guards. For the most time of the year, the mountains are green and tranquil; in the winter time, the park puts on its white dress like a merry bride. The tea gardens, singing streams and lakeshore bamboos make a harmonious picturesque landscape.

    The park features bountiful natural beauties like Nanshan waterfall, paddling immortals, man-face rocks, singing streams, red leaves, finger-like clouds, afterglow scalper, longevity pine, Jichen sunrise, emerald islands, etc, among which 'running brook and fragrant snow' is the most well-known. Liuxihe National Forest Park is also renowned for its plum forest, which covers the reservoir in the area of 2000mu; there are also hundreds of continuous plum woods in Nanshan Mountain 3km from the park. This is the famous 'running brook and fragrant snow', which shares the reputation with 'fragrant snow of Luogang'. When the plum blossoms in winter, the colors of white, blue and green portraits a vagary painting on the forest's beauty. The other scenic spot is Monkey Island, where lives over 200 monkeys and presents the visitors much fun.

    Sanyatang Valley is a newly-developed scenic spot integrating sports, forest health care in Liuxihe National Forest Park. Sanya Brook, 2500m long, is running througn Sanyatang and also running along beautiful riversides, where worms are ringing, birds are singing, trees are welcoming the visitors. The unique mysterious environment makes visitors calm, gentle and comfortable.

    Liuxihe National Forest Park is an ecological park with natural landscape, humanistic sights and forestry health care in one park. The architectures in the park have various styles as the Italian style, the Chinese court style and the family style. There are 7 meeting rooms and 1 disco-dancing hall in the park. All of the architectures are built close to mountains and waters, which will show great natural sights when you are dining. The corridors, stone bridges, porches, alcoves and pagoda booths in various styles are built in the lakeside islands.

    The rides as boats and yachts are anchored and wandering in the lake. Some facilities, as barbeque, fishing pool, tent zone and spring bathing pool can also be of service for visitors .
