Zhongshan Park is situated in the center of the city and is the first park in Wuzhou. In 1924, the local government decided to enlarge the urban area by dismantling the ancient city wall and built a park in Beishan (North Hill) with the name as Beishan Park. When Zhongshan (Sun Yat-sen) Memorial Hall was completed in October 1930, the Hall and the Park combined as a whole, so the park had changed its name as Zhongshan Park.
The main scenic spots in the park are Zhongshan Memorial Hall, Morning Bell Pavilion (the bronze bell was cast in Southern Han dynasty), North Garden, Big Platform Garden, Rear Hill Bamboo Garden, Minxiu Garden, Wei Baqun Memorial Hall, Mid-hill Shadowy Pavilion, Stone Tablet Pavilion, Zoo, etc. There are Grade A & B national protected animals such as black langur (Class E endangered animal in the world), tiger, lion, leopard, bear, peacock, sika deer, camel, etc. in the park.
Zhongshan Park is a comprehensive scenic spot with the functions of sightseeing, leisure & enjoying. It has rich tourist resources and the natural scenery is beautiful, thus attracting tourists from all directions.
