Mengqing Garden, the first ecological green island in Shanghai is built along the 100 meters long water bank of Suzhou Creek as part of the Suzhou Creek Rehabilitation Project.
This "Greenland" area, located in the south part of Suzhou Creek with an area of about 8.6 hectare has successfully combined the natural scene, historical site and the ecological merit together.

Furthermore, all the water the garden use either in the water scene or waterfall is come from the Suzhou Creek, which is presented as the sample of "Ecological water use". Besides, Mengqing Garden with a large water reservoir underground plays an important role in adjusting the water drainage of Suzhou Creek, thus contributes a lot to the protection of the water environment.
