Mountain Maoshan is located in the southwestern Jiangsu province, about 60 kilometers from Nanjing, about 10 km long in north-south direction and about 5 km wide in east-west direction, and the area of 50 square kilometers. It looks like a green black dragon lying among five counties (cities) of Jurong, Jintan, Lishui, Dantu and Danyang, Jiangsu province.

Damao peak, main peak of Mountain Maoshan like the head of green dragon, is also the highest peak in Mountain Maoshan with the elevation of 372.5 m; although it not very high, but as the saying goes: no matter how high the mountain is, its name will spread far and wide if there is a fairy! This scenic area was listed as the provincial government forest Park and approved as a Class I provincial scenic spot in 1986. Meanwhile, it is not only the holy land for the Taoism, but also anti-Japanese base area, its natural landscape, cultural landscape, forest landscape and revolutionary history integrates with each other, better than the fairyland. Its total planned area is 32 square kilometers, and Myriad Blessings Palace of the Nine Heavens (Jiuxiao Wanfu Gong) is on the top of it, Second Mao Peak and Third Mao Peak wind ups and downs and form a beautiful contrast with the main peak.
