The Sofu is a really nice hotel. The hotel is new and well maintained, very airy and spacious rooms, very clean and does not come with the typical worn-out smoke stained feel that a lot of hotels in China have. The staff are polite, friendly and helpful. It takes on a semi hotel-inn feel, with a nice common area for guests. The location of the hotel is neat in the sense that its on a traditional road with lots of local food, its close to the subway and to central Beijing. The only downside is that is a relatively congested traffic area (as is most of Beijing) and can be hard to get a taxi. But other than that, it is a lovely hidden gem.

The decoration of the hotel is quite distinctive, with the flavor of old Beijing, but many small details are very general. TV stations and manuals are different, and there are obvious noises. The water in the toilet is not good. It's better to lift the floor drain. What makes me feel a little disgusting is that there is hair left by previous guests on the floor towel of the toilet. We dare not use bath towels... It can only be said that there is a big gap with chain high-end hotels.
