Harbin Institute of Technology Jingpohu Sanatorium is located in the Jingpo Lake scenic spot of Mudanjiang city. Jingpo Lake is the largest mountain barrier lake in China and the second largest in the world, with an overall planning area of 1726 square kilometers.
It is mainly featured by lakes and mountains, as well as geological wonders such as underground primeval forest of crater and underground lava tunnel. In 1982, it was approved by the State Council as the first batch of national key scenic spots. In 2006, it was rated as 'World Geopark' by UNESCO. In 2008, it was rated as 'China's top ten leisure tourist attractions' by the International Leisure Industry Association, the international ecological security cooperation organization of the United Nations and China international famous brand association.
