    It exhibits objects related to Lu Xun and some other great figures who influenced the Chinese modernization and indirectly paved the path for the communist revolution.  The new building to the right was initially built in 1957-1959 and was renovated in 1992. It contains several distinct exhibitions.  There is an impressive historical exhibition of 'Chaozhou wood carving' which you must not miss.  Screens and other objects elaborately carved in wood are displayed. It provides with an interesting explanation of the history and different techniques used in the art. The next section on the ground floor is an exhibition of modern ceramic figures in traditional Shiwan or Foshan style.

     Each window displays works of a different artist with a brief biography and.There is a whole section upstairs dedicated to the history of Guangzhou from prehistoric times to modern days. Many of the objects from the semi-colonial years are from England.
The items range from postcards, pictures and other documents. This indicates that Guangzhou was a center of trade with foreign nations.Another section houses an exhibition of old Chinese pottery and china wares. - You will also find posters in traditional Chinese calligraphy at the museum.
